The TWM Induction Story
When TWM was established in 1984, we had a goal and a commitment to produce
quality, competition intake manifolds for import cars. Our philosophy
of building parts up to a quality rather than down to a price, sometimes
cost us market share, but we refused to compromise in the high quality
of our products.
In the past ten years there have been amazing changes in the performance
induction aftermarket, and while we still manufacture an expanding range
of high quality intake manifolds, our emphasis since the early nineties
has been on producing fuel injection equipment. We are extremely proud
of our throttle body range, the quality and extent of which is, we feel,
unequaled. Our injection products now appear on race and rally cars all
over the world and in the last two years TWM injection equipment has been
featured in leading magazines such as Turbo, Grassroots Motorsport,
Hot Rod and Street Rodder magazines.
In 1996 we began making our first deliveries of the new 3006 Series throttle
bodies, specifically designed for Porsche engines. These versatile units
have seen successful action at Daytona, Sebring and Le Mans. Four years
ago we installed new machinery to produce our own fuel pressure regulators,
which now appear on some of the top works race cars.
For the last five years we have been extremely proud to be associated
with the factory ORECA Chrysler Vipers which this spring finished first
and second at Daytona and won their class for the third year in a row
at Le Mans. These exciting GT cars use a fuel injection system designed
and manufactured by TWM, including throttle bodies, air horns, and intake
manifolds.
Also fitted with TWM equipment is the Skunkworks Allmotor Integra built
by Group A Autosports of Hayward, California which has been a consistent
class winner during the past year in the Battle of the Imports. The injection
system is a 2000 Series throttle body kit fitted with a TWM air box. We
offer our congratulations to all these successful competitors and those
involved! More successes are sure to follow!
We began shipping our new air
box last September, a product which has received critical acclaim, and which
is suitable for dual throttle bodies or carburetors, with center spacing between
83 and 110 mm.
The year 2000 sees the release of the new Mini-Halmeter (AF10) together
with other additions to the Halmeter range. For the immediate future we
are working on 2000 Series kits for the H22 Honda, the Ford Zetec and
the VW cross-flow Series type 3.
